Description
The Rev. David Nieda offers a 14-minute sermon entitled “Wisdom at Three Miles an Hour” based on Deuteronomy 8:2-3.
Theme: Rev. Nieda takes an idea from Kosuke Koyama’s book “Three Mile an Hour God” which posits that God used the 40-year journey in the wilderness so that “God could teach us that people don’t live on bread alone but everything that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” (v.3 paraphrase). Nieda applies it to the journey in the “wilderness” we’ve been on as a people especially through the pandemic and attempts to provide some spiritual comfort through the wilderness story of trust, obedience, patience, and ultimately deliverance.
Rev. David Nieda serves as associate director of the Northwest United Methodist Foundation.
